A Small Haul

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your comments on my last post. I was glad to help some people out =)

I am showing a small haul today. These are some random items I have bought in the recent weeks.

First items are my new benefit crease less shadows!
I originally bought 1 in "Bathing Suit" during my non existent lunch break only to find out upon return to my cube my box had an EMPTY JAR of shadow...ugh so I had to run back to Sephora and get a replacement.
On the line I noticed the Sweet Deals this month was the Benefit crease less shadows. Two for 10 dollars!
I personally am into n*de shadows because I can wear them everyday to work and creams are faster to me than powder shadow for application.
Admit tingly all the colors are very similar and safe but they are all great lid base colors that can be worn alone ( I do this when I am late ) or as a canvas to build upon.

Sorry the shadows are no longer pristine because I used some already.
Top row left to right: "Recess" "Birthday Suit"
Bottom row: "Honey Bunny"
Swatches are in the same order.

These are so creamy! I was originally going to try MAC's paint pot but now since I have 3 of these I don't need it anymore. I am very happy with these.

Paul and Joe
I love having a Paul and Joe counter in my neighborhood. Truthfully they don't have a huge selection but I love browsing when I am just waiting around the area.

I bought the Paul and Joe eyeliner pencil in 03. It is not my color...it is dual ended, lighter shade for the front of the brow and darker for the ends of the brows. I will probably wear it more once I color my hair again. They only had 1 color for the eye brow pencils ( small selection)

I bought the Paul and Joe eye gloss in 05 which can be described as a sparkly greyish with purple undertones.
I love it! especially on top of birthday suit!

EOTD: grr my camera won't focus... but can you see the sparkles? I wore this eye combination all week. Subtle enough for work. It's love.

The Givenchy shadow I fgt to take a photo of but was a free bee from Sephora.

Nail Polishes
OPI in "I'm not really a Waitress" and Sephora OPI in 212
212 in the jar looks black with multi shimmers but in the light you can see it is actually like a deep olive green with shimmers. It is not bad but I was kinda hoping for black.
Bottom photo was 2 coats

I am actually not the biggest MAC fan...but my area has a MACY's and a MAC counter so it is nice to pop in and check out the new releases.
I picked up 2 cream sheen glosses. MAC's new formula lip gloss. I had previously tried a MAC gloss and it was so STICKY, which sucked for me because that day was so windy -_- after that I kinda avoided the products all together but the new cream sheens had good reviews on how they were not so gummy.
I confirm this! Definitely a better formulation. I would definitely repurchase the cream sheen's.
Bought in Boy Bait and Partial to Pink. Their newest limited edition colors. Both very wearable.

Paul and Joe eye Gloss # 5, Partial to Pink, and Boy Bait

That's all for now. Hope everyone has a very happy Turkey Day!!

My Guide and Review of Facial Cleansers

Happy weekend everyone!

I have been using a new product skin cleanser recently and wanted to share a comprehensive review on some of the facial cleansers I have used in the past.

Over the last 10 years? I have tried alot of brands so hopefully this will be helpful to some people who are curious of an item I may have tried.
I am basically a skin care product junkie but this will only be on the cleansers I have tried.

Every one's skin is different and reacts differently to products but these have been my personal experiences and thoughts.

My skin type is normal but acne prone, it is not sensitive to many products.
Due to this most of the items I have tried are for acne fighting products.
No dryness or oiliness I blot maybe once a week with Boscia linens.

The Drugstore Brands:

Clean and Clear:
Continuous Control Acne Wash
I recommend this for moderate/mild acne. Nice foam and this item does seem to help. Not good for very acne prone skin. Non drying. I used this for like 2 years.
Acne Control - Acne Wash

Blackhead Eraser Scrub
I saw no difference with my blackheads at all...not a bad exfoliator, leaves the skin soft afterwards.

Morning Burst Facial Scrub
Same after effects with the black head scrub, better and softer beads, better smell. Just a cleaning product, does not help with acne but you do feel very refreshed! I think all the scents from the morning bursts are pretty good.
Facial Scrub - Morning Burst® Facial Scrub

Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash
OMG this stuff is so scary! I used this once. I am only reviewing this because once was enough for me. After washing my face and towel patting my face dry my skin was peeling all over my face! 0.0 this went to the trash...

<span class=

Clear Pore Cleanser Mask
I really like this! it can be slightly drying your first time but I was ok. I think this is the best drugstore acne wash there is with the highest amount of benzoyl peroxide I saw available (2.5%). I do not recommend this for sensitive skin. Double used as mask once a week can be *tingling* which kinda irritates me so I do it every other week. I would recommend this to people who are thinking of seeing a dermatologist because the other drug store items just are not strong enough. I have gone through several tubes. Only down side is the package compared to other items in the brand is kinda small.

<span class=
Deep Clean
Cream cleanser, felt like it left some kinda residue on my face afterwards...I did not like this
<span class=

Daily Pore Cleansing Pads
One swipe and my face was RED, stung, and dry. I gave these to my brother who felt the same.
I do not recommend...

<span class=

Positively Radiant
Nice gentle cleaners from this line, recommended for pretty clear skin. Doesn't feel like a " DEEP" clean though but definitely will get the job done

<span class=

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
I had used this last month. I tried it because I heard it was the # 1 recommended item from Dermatologists.
Tried this for 2 weeks. First week I was fine. Second week omg.... I was a monster. I had to make a dermatologist appointment ASAP.
My derm told me this is for sensitive skin only even though it states all skin types.
"If you have acne prone skin this will clog your pores and give you more acne." 0.0 I believe him!!
After seeing what Cetaphil did he prescribed me pills, topical creams, a new face wash.

I do not recommend this for acne prone skin. Only sensitive skin, but this is my personal experience...

<span class=
This all smell beautiful~! I have tried a few from this line. I like the grape fruit one in the morning. After using this your skin feels so refreshed and bright! Light micro beads. This is like the Asian version of Clean and Clear morning burst. I really love these in the AM.
<span class=

Shiseido Perfect Whip
Very nice scent ( like wine?), and really really foams!! It is kinda fun to use and it was ok lol. I prefer the Naive Kracie more because it just felt alot cleaner after I dried my face. Supposed to be used as a make up remover. I just used it as a regular wash.

<span class=

Liquid Facial Soap in Mild
This is not bad...it's ok. I don't feel like a get a deep clean and has a gel texture. Feels kinda slimy? I would use this after a make up remover. I don't think this can remove make up well alone.
It did the job, I still received spots but nothing to pout over.

Liquid Facial Soap

Shu Uemura
Foaming Cleansing Water
Very light, nice scent. I use this after the gym to wash off and spritz with some toner so I can clean my skin for the commute home and then do a proper cleansing. Very light. I would use just for these kind of small purposes.

Foaming Cleansing Water by <span class=

Cleansing Oil in Fresh
Probably the best make up remover I have ever tried. Some people use this alone and do not wash their face again post this product. I tried that for 2 weeks and broke out so I would recommend a double cleanse.

<span class=
Biosource Foaming Invigorating Cleansing Water
This stuff was pretty good to me! I used like 4 of these but after a while it stopped working for some reason. I have tried the foam and the cream type. Leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed!

<span class=
Fresh Cleaning Foam
I used the old packaging, this stuff is pretty good and verges on the boarder of very good. Kept me relatively clear for two years so a big woot!

<span class=

Multi Cleanser-Professional Make up Remover
I really like this and use this still when I travel as a make up remover. Has micro beads for a a daily exfoliating effect and smells great! I have kept repurchasing this item many times.

Face Oasis Cleansing Water
I am quite a big fan of this I always feel very clean after using this item. I would definitely follow up with something for myself but I can definitely see that this can be easily used alone at night as a good cleanser.

Face Oasis™ Cleansing Water

Lush Angels on Bare Skin
You can read my last post on Lush. I really like this! Keeps my skin super soft. Not the best smell.

Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser by LUSH

Rx Brands
Brevoxyl 8%
Used this for a year. This really really cleared everything up. Loved that!! It basically destroyed any chance a pimple attempted on my face. Can be very drying! Needs to be followed up with a pretty nice application of moisturizer.
I stopped using it because I noticed my face was"hard" it was clear but it wasnt soft...it felt rough. I did not like this effect and went off this.
I heard this was discontinued but I can't confirm.

Picture of <span class=

Triaz 6%
I think the picture below is the old packaging because my box is blue and definitely 6%.I was prescribed this after my trial with Cetaphil. They are cleansing cloths that just need a little water to foam. I usually cut one in half because one cloth if huge and can double the amount in a box.

These are definitely less drying that breoxvyl, not harsh, and I like them. I have not had any more break outs. My face is still scarred from my previous trial brand but I think for now this is definitely working for me.

I need moisturizer after this but just a small pea sized amount which I would apply normally is fine.

Picture of <span class=

My Favorites and still currently use: Laneige Multi Cleanser, H20 Oasis, Triaz 6%, Clear Pore, Angels on Bare Skin

WHEW that was pretty long...the above is all the brands I can remember trying. Haha I am sure there are more but I hope the above was useful to someone.

Stomp and Chomp daily is having a Give away!! She has some great prizes!!!

Please enter and show support to her wonderful blog!!

Have a great weekend!!!

Lush Loving

All natural beauty can sometimes be derived from all natural products. I find when my skin is crystal clear (quite rare) I feel much more confident, and I have found that items from Lush contribute to this effect.
Do you girls prefer natural products? Though I have never tried Lush's soaps I will share some of my favorites from the store. Items I have repurchased and thought it was time to share.

Admitingly I have never tried their famous soaps, but the below are the items I have tried with success and would love to hear other's opinions on their favorites.

Angels on Bare Skin: ( don't you love the name? )
A gentle exfoliator that can be used for everyday. I believe they say somewhere it can be used as a make up remover but I just use it at night after my normal make up cleanser and soap. Leaves my skin feeling super soft and clean. The smudgiest exfoliator I have ever tried. The scent is not the best ( nature scent), but I got over that pretty quick.

I am currently on my third tub. One tub can last about 4 months. Only the tiniest amount is needed but you must keep watch for the 4 month shelf life

Mask of Magnaminty
Green substance in a black tub. When you pick it up at the store you will be surprised that it's really heavy! This stuff is super dense with a mint scent. Originally when I used this, the mint was so over powering that I started to tear! I think the first time I just layed it on way too thick.
End result is BABY soft skin, thats clearer, whiter, and brighter in my opinion. I know some people do not think this mask is very special but this is my favorite clay mask and an HG product for my routine.
Tub comes in 2 sizes, can be used on other parts of your body outside your face. Only down side is it can be messy to wash off so be sure to stand well above a sink.
Used 2x a week. This stuff gives me a tingling sensation that is non burning. I usually use this at night after the gym when all the toxins are out of my body and I think it can absorb more effeciently for some reason.

Currently on my third tub and lasts about 3 months. Convenient to come in 2 sizes in case you don't use it too often. I own the large tubs.

Potion Lotion
My very first Lush item. This is what started the love. I was heart broken when this was discontinued! When I found out it was being re released due to popular demand I bought 2!
Wonderful wonderful scent. Like carnations! Not too overpoweringly flowery. I wish they made this in perfume form.

I leave this on my desk at work and all my co workers go" what is that?? POTION?" lol

Currently on my 4th bottle
Potion Lotion Hand And Body Creams

Tee Tree Toner
This... I am on the fence. I definetly do not love this. I carry this around and use it like water. I generally use this after the gym post make up wipes and spritz this for some freshness.
I also use this after my make up cleansing routine, if I am not doing my night routine right away I use this to leave my skin hydrated until ready.

Seems to keep oil at bay, and is supposed to help with acne. I dont think it is anything special, just something I carry around in my purse for refreshment.
Currently on my 2nd bottle

That shows my favorite Lush items. Wont you share yours? I am very interested in their bath bars and bombs but don't know which to go for! I am currently looking at " Honey I washed the kids"

~H20+ Review

In my constant search for new HG products on skin care I am constantly on the search for potential prospects from various brands. One of my latest experiences being with the Chicago based brand H20+. A brand that derives it products from "marine sourced nutrients" via sea derived formulas.

The Face Oasis Cleansing Water $24
"This technologically advanced formula water activates to break down make-up and impurities while maintaining skin’s natural moisture balance. Leaves skin feeling quenched and revitalized with no residue left behind."

A make up remover with "hydrating marine algae"

I really like my Shu Uemura Oil Make Up Remover but sometimes I feel so weird rubbing oil into my skin. This is a water based solution and seems to have no oil items in it's formulation. It surprisingly removes make up very well! Has a light aloe scent and leaves my skin feeling soft and looking brighter!

This is not going to remove water proof mascara, but still good!

I usually take my make up off the minute I get home and use this. My face is clean, bright, and soft afterwards. I do have to use a toner after this even when I am not yet ready for my night routine because I notice after 30 minutes my skin looks a lil dry. Not the whole face but only my problem areas/blemishes!! this is GOOD, I want that stuff gone.

After this I usually follow with just a spritz of tea tree toner for moisture and to help combat.

Overall I really like this product a little more than my Shu, just because the water feels cleaner. This does not lather, or foam but my face looks "cleaner" after rinsing this off than with my Shu. I would repurchase this!

Anti-Acne Clarifying Face Wash
The Anti Acne Clarifying Wash $18
"Formula combines one of the most effective, non-drying ingredients for the treatment of acne, salicylic acid, with exclusive natural, marine botanical blend to absorb excess oil. Ginger oil provides a natural, innovative method for adding antibacterial properties."

One of the lines newer products. I returned this already. Though this is supposed to be acne fighting it contained 1.5% salasylic acid. At the time when I was buying H20 my face was not in good shape and bought this on a whim without reading the back. I returned it because 1.5% was really not going to do much for me.
I would recommend this is you have very moderate acne and are pretty clear most of the time.
This had a light foam and the smell was ok, but as an acne wash depending on your skin type will show the results. I knew for myself it was not strong enough and had seen drug store brands with a higher percentage of ance fighting solutions.

**Coincidentally I am currently using an item with no acne fighting ingredients and seems to be working!!! maybe I need gentleness?????? my skin is so weird***

Sea Results Overnight Perfecting Peel
Sea Results Overnight Perfecting Peel $34

"A liquid peel formulated to revitalize and smooth skin’s surface, this high performance treatment delivers balanced tone and clarity, prevents clogged pores and potential breakouts, all while revitalizing and brightening dull complexions. Reveals a softer, more youthful you."

I use this at night in place of my Clinique turn around Cream which I now use only in the day.
Applied at night before moisturizer to try to renew my skin, heal and prevent break outs, and hopefully speed up the process of scar fading. Clear gel formula.

This stuff stings... not everywhere but any residue left on your fingers that goes above your cheek bones really really stings the area around my eyes even though the products is generally kinda far on my face from my eyes... this kinda bothers me. The rest of my face feels fine but from below my eye brows to above my cheek bones sting! it feels "hot" and is slightly uncomfortable for a few minutes. ( ok it hurts...a lot)

There is no immediete reaction to the skin in terms of softness or hydration but I will admit using this product for 1 month at night has definetly faded out my acne scars faster than using the Clinique turn around cream for about 4 months. I can't argue with results!

Even though I love the speed of the product I don't believe this is a repurchase item. I highly prefer the Clinque formula which is slower but brings no pain whats so ever and immedietly after application my face feels soooooooo smooth. I definetly need a back up bottle of the Clinique and can skip the H20.

The H20 item is quite generous with it's sizing

Overall impressions: The brand is not bad ( from what I have tried) definetly above drugstore and produces a wide range of items according to skin type. They offer a huge range of moisturizers that I think look appealing for night.
I would definetly try other items from this brand as it shows potential for some hidden gem items but I doubt everything in the line is as great as the website makes it seem. ( but all websites make it sound good, right?) I would try to get some reviews in prior to purchasing as many of the reviews on the site are glowing for just about every product.
All of their products seems to have a light aloe scent which is nice to me but I know some people prefer fragrance free.

I hope this was helpful to all those who love to try new skin products like me!

My Favorite Shampoo and a Code

Do you guys change shampoos on a regular basis? For just about a year I have used Shiseido's Tsubaki Line and have loved the results. Yesterday, I ran out and tried some of the Loreal in my bathroom.
Today my hair has itched all day and was already flaking in the morning. I had previously used Loreal and had no such issues. ( I picked up a new package of Tsubaki after work!!)
Yes, it has occurred to me that this is now my favorite shampoo so I wanted to share what the line does and how wonderful it has been to my hair.

The line comes in two lines red for normal hair, and white for damaged hair.
I usually choose damaged lines not because my hair really needs it but I want to get the maximum amount of benefits and moisture the shampoo can give.
The scent of this is light and very nice. It lasts through my hair for a few hours. Not overpowering or too flowery but feminine.
Also I have never flaked once when using this line.

The conditioner is amazing. I think most conditioners are pretty great, I cant imagine who invented such a thing but thank goodness! The Tsubaki's conditioner removed all tangles created from crazy styles, removes all residue hair products, and leaves you hair soft and shiny for days. It feels soft going into your hair and effortless when removing in the shower or bath.
The shampoo is good but the conditioner in this package is the real winner. I cannot recommend it enough. If you must choose one, try the conditioner.

The price can be considered expensive but in the beginning you buy the containers of shampoo and conditioner and in the future you just buy re fill packets for your containers at home which is a good solution for the environment and the refills are cheaper/lighter so you are saving some money. The packages are large so one bottle used every other day lasts just short of a year.
( I shared this with my mother so every other day times two people )
The quality of this shampoo is worth the extra amount compared to other drug store brands.
* Note this hair line above is considered a drugstore brand also in Asia*

The above package also holds"Conditioning Tsubaki Amino" I have never tried that product before but my store was having a special and it came free. Will review that item in the future.

As a last note:
Many of you liked my NYX items from my last haul post. I had received all the items from Cherryculture.com on sale which is still going on today, and I have received a coupon code for the site for an additional 20% anything in the sore.
Offer ends 11/3/09. Sorry for the late notice. It is only a 3 day sale.
CODE: NS20 ( picture get's cut off =/ )
