Haul! Sephora and omg MAC?

First haul of 2010~! it had to happen eventually. I am currently saving my pennies again but enjoying what I had gotten during my brief spree.

MAC
I walked into my MAC for my co worker whose birthday just passed but walked out with a few additional items for myself.

I am in no way anti MAC but am not a huge fan of the brand after being disappointed so often, but I always seem to come back! they are constantly having new collections that always spike my curiosity.

Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink

I am on a constant search of a great lip balm. This is a pretty shade but I don't think it does that well in conditioning my lips. The shade is sheer and cute but I still prefer the effectiveness of Burt's Bees.

Paint Pot in Rubenesque and Eyeshadow in Black Tide

Ok, I have been wanting these 2 items for a while. Rubenesque is a beautiful peachy coppery shade. I have been obsessed with this type of color for my eyes for beautiful bronzy autumn/winter looks. Really warms the face up.
Black tide is pretty no? The famous MAC Carbon was a little too intense for me. This seemed like a safer black for setting my liner.

Well Dressed Blush

Yes, a blush. I know I have posted in my "products I regret buying: MAC blushes made the list, but this is the only one I would consider purchasing. It just has such a devoted following, one of those things people have in their collections due to either love or fame.

I actually have purchased this about 4x? and returned it 4x!! due to a horrible blush history. This time I actually thought, "ok I am going to open the package and use it this time!"

Verdict? I have to admit...this blush is beautiful. Just the perfect perfect pink with subtle silver shimmer. The rest of the collection's blushes are meh to me but this item has to be my best MAC purchase to date. I have used this every single day and cannot stop. I cannot believe it. Pigmentation is not bad, but the color is just so soft and pink I can't put it down! this color is just LOVE.

Sephora! I have missed you, I had not really visited for a while to avoid temptation.

Sephora's Professional Platinum Angled Eyeliner Brush #23

I have been eying this item for a while. So far I have been trying to use gel eyeliner a few times a week. Every week with complete failure! I haven't gotten the brush to eye technique down yet. Practice makes perfect but THIS BRUSH sure does help! the control you have is so much easier than a normal angled brush, I still have trouble applying gel liner but I have been making strides since this purchase.

Stila Kitten Eyeshadow

Probably Stila's most famous product. Truly pigmented, very nice sheen, and color but I actually don't see the reason for such a cult following.
Regardless I have been wearing this on my lid every day because it was a neutral but with some definite shine.

Cargo Blue Ray Gloss in Halifax
Due to to my Sephora sabbatical I did not know Cargo was leaving Sephora and was having a sale!!! I went to 4 Sephora's to find this shade. Very pretty peachy n*de, mint scented and not too sticky. It was half off so score! Too bad Cargo is leaving Sephora it seemed like a good brand and I don't really see it anywhere else. I have always wanted to try their blushes but they were unfortunately all sold out. (unsurprisingly)

Miss Dior Cherie
This was free because of my Sephora points, I actually do not like this scent...but super cute bottle

Revlon Perle Eyeshadow in Lilac Shimmers
One of their newest eye shadows. Very pretty in the pan but omg! talk about fall out!! ugh not a fan of that aspect. You can see from the photo below it is all over my cheek.

Hope you all liked the new items!

Whats in my make up bag?

I love the YT videos on "whats in my purse?" is that a strange thing to watch? Well today I thought it would be fun to show, whats in my make up bag?

Admit tingly I do carry a lot of make up with me on a daily basis ( in my opinion) due to the fact that I sporadically spend nights away from home and I want to have the necessary basics with me so I can be comfortable and *cough* presentable the following day.

The make up bag:

Round items:

From Left to Right, top to bottom
1. Rimmel stay Matte in 001 Transparent
2. Body Shop travel size coconut butter
3. Rosebud Salve
4.Stila Convertible Color in Gebera
5. Nivea Soft lotion
6. Forever 21 hand Mirror
7. Burt's Bees Wax

Stick Items
From top to bottom
1. Nivea lip balm in rose
2. Clinique volume mascara
3. Clinique mascara
4. Body Shop Travel Brush
5. Bath and Body White Citrus Roller Ball Perfume
6. L'oreal concealer
7. MAC creamsheen in Partial to Pink

The Random
Left to right
1.L'occitaine shea butter hand cream-Sakura
2.CVS eye drops
3. Fake Anna Sui Bobby Pin holder
4. Neutrogena Pimple cream
5. Boscia Blotting Linens in green tea

This is basically all the stuff I need to get through an average day, spending the night away from home, and refreshing myself in the morning.

The coconut butter is a great size moisturizer for showering away from home.
I recommend the roller perfumes! so handy! and I feel it is less likely to break than an actually perfume bottle. Even though the roller bottle is glass too. The shape seems less prone to breaking. Also great for after the gym! ( just in case )
The Stila color, I always wonder if it's necessary to carry this around but when I'm away and have no additional brushes, this cream blush is perfect!

I still have to find a travel sized eye pencil, any recommendations?

Zipia Haul!

Winter is in full swing so I decided to get a few clothes. My clothes are from Zipia which is a Korean whole sale website. I had previously gone to Korea last fall and saw the same clothes on the website when I came back to the states. Whenever I feel like I need some new clothes I love looking at Zipia as their style reflects more of the things I like to wear.

(Zipia has a $300 dollar minimum on their purchases- this is w/o shipping as it is a whole sale website. I split this with 2 other girls so the below does not reflect everything purchased. In total about 18-20 pieces were purchased)

My favorite item from this haul was this bag! I love it! It looks like the new Marc Jacobs bag but smaller and more fitted towards my petite body than the original design.

Close up view

This scarf was not from Zipia, but I bought it in Korea last fall and had forgotten to show it. It's a huge HUGE square shape. I have no idea how to fold it to use, but love the pattern. Any advice on how to wear it? or shape it?

Warm starry sweater thats double lined, love star patterns

Simple T shirt, not too fond of the words but I got it anyway, along with the red hat. I want to wear it together with the T. I bought the hat in black also. You can get them anywhere, but they were cheap on Zipia so I grabbed some.

New wedges, I love wedged boots! These look great with skinny black jeans and my new star sweater lol

Last is a tiny star bracelet that I bought to accessorize my work wardrobe. I love delicate looking jewelry.

Let's stay warm and cozy this winter!

Short Reviews 1

Since I have been on a small make up diet, I had begun to seek current items in my collection as almost brand new items again. Like finding an old treasure. Going through items I already posses makes me review why I ever stopped using an item.

I have a short review today on things I have re found - some being better than I remembered, and others that are now definite fails after several attempts to make it work.

1. Burt's Bees Wax Lip Balm
Burt's Bees in recent years have started to become more streamline and is a now recognized drug store + brand among most. I bought this balm when I first saw BB in college. When I first bought it, I hated it...it was damn hard in the tin and when I applied it on my lips I thought it stung! Bee's!!! get it?
I have never been the biggest fan of peppermint.
Lately due to the season my lips have become quite chapped. I normally use Rosebud Salve but it was just not doing the job. I whipped this out while rummaging and applied.

This stuff WORKS! I apply this at night before bed and when I wake up my lips are still moist from the balm. Also super soft. Extremely long lasting, apply in the morning and night and you will have soft, supple lips.

Still not a fan of the tin texture, so when I finish this ( looks like soon ) I will try the stick formulation in pomegranate or green tea.

The best lip balm I have found yet for winter.

2.The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion

This stuff sucks. Smells bad ( younger version of tiger balm smell... if this reference makes sense) takes long to absorb, and doesn't fade anything....save your money.
Tried it every night for 4 months before running out and throwing it out.

3.The Body Shop Mineral Kabuki (small size)

I've wanted to try this for a long time but I thought the price was a little too hefty. At 50% off I grabbed it and never looked back!

I love this brush, I use it everyday for my powder foundation, super soft and dense. I highly recommend, as opposed to the last item, this Body Shop piece is a winner!

4. L'occitane en Provence Hand Cream

This is a constant in my purse. I have a few variations of the L'occitane hand creams and love them. I have noticed with constant use of this product not only does it absorb and smell like lavender and Shea, it has visibly improved the appearance of my hands, which is hard to do now as NYC is damn cold.

With constant use I have noticed my hands become smoother, even paler, and more translucent. I am loving the effects!

Unfortunately, if I do not use this on a daily basis I notice my hands lose these improvements quickly and become painfully chapped. I am almost out of the mini size of this, and will be purchasing the larger version as a winter staple.

5. Vitacreme B12
If this has not been reviewed on over 100+ blogs already. Here is my addition.

I use this creme as a night moisturizer. It absorbs well and I give it a good minute or two for it to fully absorb in my skin. The creme is pink and the smell is not unpleasant to me but I have heard some bad reviews about it. To me it is lightly faint of roses and baby powder but I have heard from many it smells reminiscent of their grandmothers, of which I can see their point.

After a month of continual use I originally did not see any results but constant use shows after 30+ days?
The very fine lines beneath my eyes and laugh lines have faded, and I see my skin in the morning as very bright. Even after a night of horrible sleep, this cream seems to give my face a more lifting and lively appearance.

The packaging is not the best, but for the price of about $35? ( I bought this in Hong Kong for about 30 US) I believe it delivers results and for people who are relatively young and wrinkles are only a small issue at the moment, this can really help.

I hope these reviews were helpful!

Perfume Haul

Happy New Yr everyone!
Sorry for my lack of make up posts, if you had noticed the last few have just been reviews. I was TRYING to not buy any make up until the New Yr's. Thankfully it is here and I can visit Sephora again lol.

During my make up break I browsed a new store and walked out with 3 new perfumes! Guess that's what happens when you deprive one thing, you reach for another.

In all seriousness I was in need for some perfumes. I have worn the same scent for years because it is the only ONLY scent my bf do sent feel nauseous over ( sensitive nose) and I wasn't even too crazy about it. So here are my new items. I hope my boy friend can tolerate them, if not...too bad hehe

Anna Sui's

Dolly Girl ( Left ) - feminine and floral. Not overpowering. Perfect for work!
Secret Wish ( Right) - Clean, light, slight citrus, I am planning on wearing this for summer

Salvatore Ferragamo
Incanto Dream - Ferregamo sells many items under the Incanto line but I liked this the best.
This scent is flowery. Stronger than the Dolly Girl. It kinda reminds me of Hawaii! I can smell orchids and a hint of pineapple I also wear this to work

I am not a fan of overpowering scents, or dousing oneself in product, you know when you walk into a room and everyone can smell you? This is not always the best thing...

Now that it's winter and we are all bundled in layers, these perfumes can help you feel light and airy again.
