Finished Products of May

End of the month = Counting empty bottles!

First up is skin care

St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser: Completed my second bottle of the year. This was my back up bottle, and my opinion of this slightly has changed.

Overall I think it does help breakouts for my skin, but on my second bottle I realized I did not like the scent as much as the refreshing Neutrogena grapefruit. I would pick up another bottle of this cleanser, just because I know it works for my skin. But not as a first choice, I like trying new products, but would come back to this if my skin is experiencing some hiccups as a quick fix.

SKII Facial Treatment Essence: Not sure how to recap this bottle. In Asia it is pretty much known as "holy water"
Quite possible one of the most expensive products I have ever purchased for my skin. To be honest, I bought this due to the great overwhelming hype.
I will review this product in full soon but in short, this product DOES deliver result, does bring life and deweiness to the face, but there are other factors that would participate. So I will cut myself short to state that I would repurchase this product because it does have results, but for the price it is being marketed for, the results you do see are minimal, and is dependent on what you are looking for.
This is not something I would run out to buy, regardless of the results. More to come soon!

Shiseido Body Creator: This is a body gel, that is targeted to help minimize and constrict fat/cellulite, while smoothing skin (I think)
The descriptions I see online are pretty vague, and leave much to the imagination. I would apply this liberally all over my legs, and would always feel some kind of "heat" sensation but I did not see any real differences to my skin or shape. Definitely would not recommend.

Yes to Tomatoes Facial Cleanser: This is designed for oily problematic skin. This is nothing special. I actually really wanted to just finish this product because of the scent. I tend to brush my teeth before going into my skin care routine. This cleanser smells like sugar. After brushing my teeth, smelling sugar is just...strange. I never thought a cleanser with the names tomatoes, would smell like that...
Would not buy this again.

Neutrogena Naturals Scrub: In the AM I like to use a daily gentle scrub before my cleanser to brighten my skin, and remove dead oily cells that came up during the night. I bought this because I tend to trust Neutrogena more, and wanted to try their new more natural line. EHHHH is all I can say about this. Far better daily scrubs within it's own line and other lines. I would skip this. The beads are very very gentle, the foam is adequate, but when you use it on your face, it just dosent feel very clean, or at least deep clean ( which it never claims) but it just seems like it could do so much more than it does...

Epiduo Gel: Prescribed from my Dermatologist. I LOVE this. I think this really assisted in keeping my skin clear these last few months, and have an appointment for a refill. No real details since this needs to be prescribed, but if you are struggling with acne at night I recommend spreading a thin thin layer of a acne treatment on the face for prevention in a low strength level. (1.5 % salicylic acid is recommended) Enough for daily prevention, but not high enough for dryness

Body Shop Vitamin C Facial Spray: I use this is after the gym, as a refresher. It smells of citrus and is truly refreshing but I far prefer the Vitamin E spray which smells more like roses, not only due to the scent, but the Vitamin C spray seems to leaves your face sticky, unlike the Vitamin E (pink bottle)

The Body Shop Aloe Day Cream: This is part of the brand's sensitive skin line which did not break me out, but was a bit thick for the warmer weather, so I used this as a neck cream once the temperature started to rise. Nothing special. This was ok...

Garnier Make up wipes: My fave make up wipes. I use these when I go to the gym after work

Boots Soothing Eye Make up remover: Also a fave! I go through this every other month, but next time I am going to try the Sonia Kashuk one which I hear is excellent

Twighlight Woods Anti Bacterial: Stay clean ladies!!

Boscia Peppermint Blotting Papers: Boscia makes the BEST blotting papers in my opinion. I received these for free from the brand during the holiday season when they were giving them away for a promotion. HG blotting papers-Green Tea is my favorite "scent" though.

I also finished a bottle of shampoo and conditioner from the Japanese brand Lux which was ok. Would not repurchase.

Now finally on to the make up!
When I started P10P alot of people asked if I am including skin care. Nope.
Skin care for me is something I seem to finish. Make up is not. As you can see from the below far smaller list...

Fresh High Noon Glow: This has been receiving alot of love from me! I loooove to mix this with my moisturizer for a perfectly natural effortless summer glow. Bittersweet to see this is done =\
I also think this is quite over priced for the amount of product you receive, and may try to find a substitute for this product over P10P

MAC Cream Sheen in Boy Bait : I think... this is my first FINISHED lip gloss of my life! @.@
Very very milky nudish pink. Limited edition. The MAC cream sheen formula's are one of the few I can actually tolerate from MAC. The size of these are also much larger than the normal lip glosses they sell.

MAC Fix + : Is this make up? It assists make up... so I am going to count this!!
This took forever me to finish...I bought this very early on in my make up obsession. I heard stories of how this was magical, helped make everything look so fresh, yada yada yada.

Tried it under 10x and thought... I don't see anything...and stuck it in a cupboard.
I semi recently took it out againvand have been FINALLY seeing what everyone else was speaking of.
In the winter I was putting on a powdery matte face that just looked ugh. I would spritiz this over to make my face look natural and 3D again. I don't feel like it makes my make up stay on much longer, but I do think it does slightly prolong the base foundation from separating on my usually combo oily skin

Let's hope the finished make up products stay at this pace for June!

  1. Wow! I am so impressed, you finished a handful of products! I'm very curious about the SKII "holy water" hehe. I know it's waaay hyped and I am kind of hyped by myself as well, but I know the prices on the SKII skincare is way out there :p

I love the Vitamin E spray as well :) I've never tried the Vitamin C one but I do know Vita C is kind of sticky, and not just from the Body Shop :)

  2. This list is crazy! =X When I said your lists made me jealous before..this is like x5 LOL

Anyways..congrats on all the finished products. And being 30% done with P10P!

I've been wanting to try the creamsheen lip glosses but figured I could wait since I don't wear lip products often. I love to use Fix+. I don't have a problem usually with makeup not lasting long but then again I tend to spray my face everyday anyways so maybe it does contribute? Haha..But I agree it makes flat/powdery faces look so much better! I'm thinking of getting the travel sized soon just to have the similar mini bottle (even though I know it's so not worth it..=X).

A lot of people in Asia rave about SKII. But it's so expensive..It makes me wonder if it really does live up to the hype >__< I guess it'll be on my wishlist for many years to come LOL Don't know when I'd ever bring myself to buy it..

  3. Wow! You've finished many products this month! Congrats! That's really great! :) I would really like to try St. Ives Green Tea Cleanser. It's weird cuz we have this brand in Poland, but without the Green Tea line. :/

  5. You finished so much skincare! I love these posts and exit reviews :) I just bought a cremesheen glass in Fashion Win today and I love it so far. It's my first lipgloss from Mac and it's really smooth and non-sticky.

But there is actually less product in the cremesheen and dazzleglass tubes than the normal lipglasses. Even though the tubes are longer, they hold almost half the amount of product in the regular, cheaper lipglasses. Just a heads up so you're not tricked by Mac's packaging! :)

  7. I can't believe you already have 3 products finished! That's awesome. One of the main reasons I don't want to do a P10P is because it would take me about a year to finish something other than foundation. =/ There are very few items that I regularly finish. Keep up the good work, girl! =D

  20. When you're done with make up in pretty packaging (Guerlain's for example), do you still throw it away?

    ReplyDelete
  21. some I do not. Guerlain meterorites ( which i dont have) but has a nice package i would keep and put jewelry in! some mini perfume bottles i dont throw away and put in toner to make my skin care look nicer =)
