Easy Breezy - Fairy Tale?

Recently a friend of mine offered to treat me a little drugstore treat as a gift
(after much coercing)
Something I have been wanting to try down the Cover Girl aisle

Cover Girl lipstick in Fairy Tale

I have spotted this lipstick across a few blogs including Tiffany's in her FOTD

And I have to say, I have been loving it.
A bright coral for summer. I recently swatched it against all my favorite summer lip colors and it was the one that was hardest to wash off my arm! I have eaten and drank multiple meals with this lipstick on and it barely fades -Score!

I wear this in the day like a stain, I apply a layer then using my finger press it into my lips, during the night I add a layer on top to amp up the color. The color is incredibly long lasting, the brand is affordable, and the formula is non drying - let me clarify, it's not a moisturizing lipstick, but it does not settle into your lip lines, and create chapped lips.
I personally think if you are wearing a bold lip color and are not used to it:
1. Try to wear it as a stain in the day with a light layer pressed into your lips and
2. Keep it matte.
Whenever I add gloss to a bright lipstick it's like "Look at me! Look my lipstick!" but if you keep it matte for some reason it's looks far more wearable

Worn in the day as a stain

A more splurge item might be the Lancome matte lipsticks ( which have a great formula) but I know Revlon now sells matte lipsticks. For now, I am keeping it Easy and Breeze with Cover Girl's Fairy Tale

Find any drugstore gems lately?

  6. Of all the lipstick swatches I did in my last post, this color was the most long lasting and hardest to wash off!! Impressive formula! I was surprised, this was my first CV lippie!

  7. this looks beautiful! I'm totally going to try using some of my brighter lipsticks as a stain. I've heard so many good things about cover girl lipsticks . . . this is really tempting!

  8. the formula of this shade is incredibly long lasting! since it's drugstore it's not so bad spending on a bright for summer! =D

  9. That lippie looks absolutely lovely on you! I tried a couple of these awhile back and absolutely ADORED Divine much to my surprise (an almost neon purple). It's a bit bright for me, but I've been dabbing that color on as a stain and I really quite like the effect.

  13. Oh this is pretty. I think it's good advice to start with a stain since I'm not used to bold colors. Cover Girl has upped their game, their packaging is very quite for Fairy Tale. ^^

  15. I was going to suggest the same thing as Jessica! Temptress also makes a pretty stain but is a Barbie-pink when it's full-force. I love how versatile these lipsticks are. If you're too shy to wear the color as is, most of them turn into flattering stains that basically won't budge (even if you want them to, like when you swatch on your arm)

  16. The Meijer by my house has heaps of them, but I heard it isn't a dead-on-dupe of Chanel Graphite, anyway, so boohoo :(

  17. Maybelline Color Sensational Coral Crush please! I also highly recommend Revlon Matte Strawberry Suede. Discontinued but i think you can still get it off amazon or somthing.

  21. I am also IN LOVE with these Covergirl Lipsticks. I guess the one thing that I would have to say is that you don't really know whether a shade will really be a stain/lipstick combo (similar to MAC pro longwear lip cremes in my opinion... but less drying) until you try it! I have the shade Eternal which is quite literally the most eternally long lasting lipstick I've ever worn (bad joke) whereas Darling wears well for a lighter shade, but more comparably to a normal lipstick. Overall, I don't think you can beat the price to quality ratio on these.
