Waiting For Something Special - YSL Créme de Blush 1 - Velvet Peach

Have you ever had things in your collection just too nice to use? You buy it, look at it, are super happy but never touch it. "It's too pretty" "I'll wait for something special"

This was in my make up collection for a while, IN THE BOX, never being used. I have come to realize in P10P
Everyday is special. That miraculaous incredible meeting the President, while having your wedding, while curing cancer all in the same day is not coming, so let's celebrate today, shall we?

While being on P10P I have created a "To buy once this is over" list. Not is such blunt words, but that is the jist of the situation. On the list was MAC's Something Special BlushCreme. Lemming and google photos aside I realized... don't I have something like this... and isnt mine..YSL???

That finger print is KILLING ME - how did I not see that during the photo shooting??

I finally got the guts to pull this baby out of it's precious looking gold box, slowly dabbed my finger in for application, and used it. I used my something special, and have been using it for a few days.

It's a beautiful natural peach color with just the tiniest bit of pink. On the skin it barely translates the pink. On the skin it's incredibly natural, dries to a powder finish, more like the Top Shop cream blushes than NARS, and is very nice.

This picture is heavily edited in lighting to try to show the EXACT color you will see if you see this product in person

I doubt I would buy any more of these, the price is quite high. I think you are paying for the little packaging really. The color is perfect for work, and au natural days, and though I like it, the fact that I realized today was special enough to use it, a Wednsday of all days, makes this something special indeed. ~Cue in the cheesy music~

Indoor's by a window lighting? haha
Please excuse the mini spots, my new skin care products have not been loving me

Do you have items kept away, waiting for that oh so appropriate moment to bust out?

  1. First, it looks gorg on you! Second, it looks like a stunning blush. I don't think I have anything that I save for special occasions, well, except my Guerlain Rouge G lipstick since it was hella expensive. Plus, it feels like luxury in my hands! My Sephora doesn't carry these blushes, I have checked twice :( Maybe that's a good thing? lol

  2. The thought that everyday is special is really nice, a great positive outlook on life. The packaging is gorgeous, so lux and fancy. The blush looks very pretty on you. :)

  3. I'm going to have to echo Danielle. You look gorgeous in the blush, it's so natural! And my Sephora also doesn't carry this ... which is probably for the best!

  4. Love this post. I am pretty new to MAC, so I have been treating my 5 MAC goodies like they are gold. In short, they aren't getting used. I think you are totally right- everyday is special, so why not bust them out?! Besides, I paid a pretty penny for those items, and it is just a waste for them to sit there unloved. Thanks for the inspiration to pop open those black boxes!

  7. Oh that gives such a nice peach glow on you. I've actually wanted to try YSL's cream blushers for a while. That packaging is beautiful I have to admit even though it may come at a price! I love what you said at the start of the post...very true! I tend to rip things open and try them in the car on the way home....lol! I'm impatient :)

  8. I don't save anything for a rainy day. I'm the impulsive sort that rips open the box and swatches before realizing that I should have taken pictures for my blog first. >_< Although I do have certain products that I save for weekends and nights out rather than using them for work or bumming around (Dior Lip Maximizer, Chanel Extrait de Gloss). I always HAVE to use something at least once when I buy it. Honestly I wish I wouldn't because it would be easier to sell later if I never use it. Oh well! Haha

  9. aww thank you dear! In my area only some Sephora's have the YSL creme blushes, and they usually only have 1 shade. Whatever season shade it is. Last time I went I saw this HOT FUSCIA but blended out it was very wearable. Currently they have an orange one which looks awesome! but reminded me of Turks and Caicos. I purchased this at MACY's =)

  12. hahaha things I buy on impulse I seem to open right up but if I really researched it for i dont know months ( it happs ) I dont touch it!!! a real shame! I need to break this habit. The formula is more like Top Shop and semi reminicent to NARS cream blush, nothing like MAC's
Dries to a powder finish =)

  18. I was working yesterday and because I was very bored , august is a very quiet month, I went to the YSL counter and started to look at all the makeup. These cream blushes caught my attention , I mean how pretty is the packaging ? *shiny eyes* They had some pretty colours like a neon pink (I like everything pink!!!) and the one you bought. It's exactly how you described it, good job LOL. It's dreamy however I'll not be buying this blush as it is way to pricy and I'm afraid it will dry or something like that héhé.
It looks good on you :)
