Finished Products of August

Quite delayed but always present, finished products of the month!

Body

Neutrogena Body Wash: I think this is my most purchased body wash of 2011!!! Still in love with it. Go to for after the gym, smells great, affordable, and lathers well

Bath and Body Works Country Apple Wash: I just buy these on sale, where they are quite a deal! once I finish my huge backlog of stock, I will finally be moving on to other washes to try! lol

The Body Shop Coconut Body Milk Lotion: A light lotion for summer, which was very thin, and smelled quite nice. I don't think I would repurchase this - as stupid as this sounds you need quite good aim with the nozzle spray, and I had spent many a time missing my arms and legs, and spraying half my make up collection =\

Not hydrating enough for fall/winter in my opinion, just in the warmer months

Skin Care

Shiseido Perfect Whip: I used this as a make up remover, the name says it all, it whips like crazy, and though it removes my make up, I still felt a layer on my skin which I was thankful the Clarasonic followed, affordable, but I have tried better drugstore make up removers

Quiora make up remover: Ok this product I did NOT finish, actually there is alot left, but I am not going to finish it. I threw it out, I used this originally to wash my make up, but I soon realized this was breaking me out, so continuation was a no way Jose

Dior Snow Sunscreen: My favorite sunscreen, and the only one I used for years. I already have a backup and love it. It looks small but it lasts months. Funny enough one of these sunscreens usually last me about 1 year but this time it only lasted 6 months... no idea what happened there. The sun cream has also been repackaged to include a pump
Better in the colder months

Neutrogena Deep Clean Gentle Scrub: I am slowly making my way through all the lines Neutrogena sells. I like to use a daily gentle exfoliator in the morning. The only positive about this is it smells like orange creamsicles. Outside this one delicious factor, there are better scrubs in the drugstore. Lathers pretty well, the formula can make it difficult to not pour out too much with each use, but will not be repurchasing

The Body Shop Moisturizer and Seaweed Gel: Review can be found here

Estee Lauder Idealist: I bought the mini size to try it out, and I'm glad I did, because I saw absolutely no results with this product. It feels like a silicone primer, and outside that *feeling* nothing resulted in terms of my skin. I actually bought this months ago, I would use it for about 2 weeks, and give up, and always put it away. I recently decided to finish it off and never look back.

Ironically my mother just came back from Duty Free and had seen this in the bathroom and bought me the JUMBO sized one as a gift. I of course thanked her, and if you see an empty jumbo idealist in the future, it's because it was a gift, I personally would not repurchase.

Extras

Boscia Blotting Linens: My HG people - Already bought a back up

Boots Botanics Eye Make up remover: My former favorite eye make up remover. Ebru had convinced me to try the one from Sonia Kashuk for the same price at Target which I now love more. Thank you Ebru!! The Sonia Kashuk leaves a less greasy residue on the eyes, like the Boots Botanics did.

Garnier Make up Wipes: My favorite make up wipes. I use these after work before the gym, not as a preferred method of removing my make up at night
Leaves my skin hydrated and fresh

Make up

FINALLY SOME MAKE UP COMPLETE - these are the hardest to finish!! So quite proud of the little pile this past month

NARS Mini Illuminator: Looks small right? Lies!!! I used this countless times, and it just never seemed to end!!! it took me about 6 months to finish this, with quite regular use. I own the full size, and will probably be wearing it in my coffin, because it takes so long to get through a tube

MUFE Aqua Eyes 01: Ok this is not fully finished, but I am having the most difficult time sharpening this!!! so to me, this is done.
Of all the liners I have tried, I prefer MUFE, over Urban Decay and most brands. Will repurchase but not in the near future, I have so many black liners to go though...

Koji Dolly Wink Liquid Liner ( Black) + Physicians Formula Liquid Liner (Brown)
I finished these two within the same week of each other, and loved them both. The Koji Dolly Wink I think is cuter for the make up bag, but can be difficult for some people to find. The Physicians Formula has a very secure closure, and is far more easily accessible. The PF is extremely similar to the Koji Dolly Wink with the claimed benefit of lengthening lashes.
I would gladly repurchase both, as they both gave smudge proof, pigmented lines, for me to use as a tight light with no smudging!
Note- I did not notice my lashes lengthening with use of the PF

That's it for August!! Thanks so much for reading my mini reviews!!

  2. I don't know... every month I try to push myself to finish my items if im pretty close...I also have quite a streak going on. I would hate 1 month I post 1 thing..how lonely would that post be???? hahaha. One item in the picture I did not finish, I just trashed, because it was breaking me out!! lol
Most important reason: SHELF space for all my new stuff sitting and waiting to be used lol I have a rotation going on

  5. Does the neutrogena body wash helped with body acne?
How nice of your mom to get you something from duty free :P At least it isn't causing your skin any harm! I didn't know Estee Lauder sold the smaller sizes..
Congrats on finishing makeup items! Especially the tubed face product, even though it's a mini. :D

You have soo many empties ahh! I can't seem to push myself as hard to finish products. I'm guilty of getting as many uses out of the products as I can =X Emptying something seems to take forever..!

  6. Hi mandy!! long time!
Yup, the body wash does help with acne. I never had body acne, but when I started going to the gym so often trouble did start =( but this fixed it right up!! Cant be without this now, they have a "normal" one but the grapefruit just smells great and refreshing!

    I know... thanks mom.. lol
Yup they do have a smaller size, i think it was like $50 dollars for the mini one lol quite pricey for something i did not enjoy using, but thankfully it does not have any bad effects on my skin so i dont mind using up another bottle

Next month I hope to have more make up products!!! Finishing things, makes me feel better and less guilty about buying =X

  7. Can't believe you finished so much stuff! It makes me really want to go through my stuff, but it will probably take me forever.

  9. so many products! I didn't know they still carried country apple. That was one of the first bath and body works shower gels I ever had =)

  10. I'm always so ashamed about how many products you finish, good job! Shiseido perfect whip definitely takes everything off but it's a little squeaky clean for me skin. I really want to try that Dior Snow sunscreen, heard nothing but good things about that line. LOL at the coffin joke but yeah a full sized NARS illuimator is huge but that's nice. :) Thanks for sharing.

  11. I believe they do.. if they dont, I would be sad, because I think it was my first also!!! i know they cut cucumber melon which was also a classic!!

  12. hahaha everyone is commenting on the # of products, alot of this stuff took months to finish, i just have alot of stuff going on at once, so something needs to be done at the end of the month! ohh shiseido white lucent line leaves my skin squeaky clean but the whip did not for some reason. I have so much backstock of make up cleansers to use up =P just need to keep trying new things

Don't be ashamed!!! enjoy ur products =D

  14. Soooooo proud of you girl! You did an AH-MAZING job finishing all this! Saw your reply to Danielle, and I totally agree! I push myself every month as well...Doing these posts alone is a great motivation to use those products up! ;)

  15. Oh man! Brave for finishing so many products!! I'm taking notes on some of the skin care things you recommend. :D Ah, and I've been lacking a proper body wash these days. I think I'll go pick up the Neutrogena one! :D

  16. Woah, you finished so many products! I want to try the Dior Snow sunscreen as I've heard great things about it.

  17. You got through so many products! I seem to manage to empty less than five a month haha x

  18. I really want to try the Neutrogena body wash<3
Great job on the finished products! ^__^

  19. Well done! I finish maybe one product a month (which is why I can never get myself through a project 5-10 pan....)

  20. Congrats on finishing so many products! I'm so envious~ It takes me AGES to finish any skincare, let alone makeup. I really need to buckle down and start using up some of my stash.

I got my eyes on the Dior sunscreen though, heard lots of good stuff about it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. wow! You have been really busy using up all your products this month! Great job!!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Wow and I thought I finished a lot of products this month! :P Your pile makes mine look miniscule! Congrats on finishing some makeup products as those are definitely the hardest products to use up. I have the Perfect Whip on my "to buy" list as a future facial cleanser instead of a primary makeup remover. Do you think it'd be good as just a facial cleanser?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Wow I should try the SK eye makeup remover too after I finish my Boots Botanics one. I stocked up a few bottles last time they were on sale. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  24. hahaha no way, I have always finished skin care at a pretty good rate, but it was not until i posted these every month, that i started to finish make up!
Yup it's the old version, I want to try the new version, i may pick it up in duty free since i am not sure how it will works considering i did not like this version, so i dont want to pay full price =P

    ReplyDelete
  25. thanks girl!!!!! yeah before these posts i never finished make up EVER but now i am on a steady-slow, but steady stream of wittling through my stuff =P

    ReplyDelete
  26. brave? whats brave? lol i love trying new things!!! the neutrogena is a winner in my book! try to pick it up on sale! =D

    ReplyDelete
  27. thanks!! i really love the Dior foundation, it can seem heavy to some ppl in the summer ( i dont think so) but it's incredible the rest of the year and helps even out your skin tone, win win win!

    ReplyDelete
  28. o thanks!! dont worry about the number! lol less than 5 is better than nothing all year right? = D

    ReplyDelete
  29. thanks so much! i love that body wash, i dont know how many times i have repurchased it, but i can count in december! im still not tired of it! and it is quite effective!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes!! finishing stuff feels...awesome!! but i always feel like i need to finish more bc I buy many things in advance so Im never without something to use next, so it's always an up hill climb, ESP in make up omg...that stuff lasts - which is good!! but u wonder, when am i going to finish this????????
The dior sunscreen is awesome! a lil $ but it lasts a very long time!

    ReplyDelete
  31. thanks!!! i try to finish my products so they dont get old, i have enough piles of stuff in my apt!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Thanks!! yup make up is the hardest! def agree!! The perfect whip - going to be honest, nothing special, just foams ALOT any foaming cleanser will do the same from the drugstore. As a stand alone facial cleanser, I dont, it didnt feel deep cleaning at all, just got rid of w/e was on the surface, I always felt like I needed to go in with another soap after wards to fully remove all residue from my face, make up, oils, perspiration, etc. I would not repurchase this.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I used to buy the Boots in Bulk too! bc Target was a bit of a pain to get to, the Boots one is good, but now im going to start bulking up on the SK!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Kay, now I'll promptly cross that off my wishlist since I have tons of other cleansers I want to try :D It's a never ending list!

    ReplyDelete
  35. This is amazing! That's a lot of stuff there! I also love the Boscia blotting linens - wish they were cheaper. And illuminators are the most difficult because you only need a tiny dab. Love your blog, btw. It's a great mix of fashion, beauty and lifestyle. :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. yup those blotting sheets are my HG!!! yea 10 bucks is a lil steep but 100 sheets usually lasts me a while, esp in the colder months. Aww thank you so much!!! that means alot! =D

  37. EL Idealist did nada for me too! Such a disappointment that was.. Heard so many things about the DiorSnow Sun Screen.. Must check it out soon
