L'Oreal Infalliable Eye Shadow Review

Let me just say right now, drugstores have been stepping up their game, and all I can say is HALLELUYAH!

High end make up is great, but when you find a drugstore gem, well you just found yourself a cheap but cheerful treasure

Latest finds: The L'Oreal Infallible Eye shadows

Launched throughout most of the world but finally reaching US drugstores are the new affordable versions of the Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill at a fraction of the price!

The packaging base showcases the shade of color, and the top shows the name of the shade. I think these are quite attractive!

So why all the hype? Why are so many bloggers comparing these to the Armani counterparts, because they ARE similar

Let us count the ways

1. Very similar toppers, this not only keeps the pressed loose pigments in place, but I believe keeps them from drying out

2. Gorgeous shade range, granted Armani's range is larger, but many drugstore brands do semi limit their colors

Iced Latte 888

This shade is similar to Bare Study in my opinion with a softer texture

Bronzed Taupe 890

A gorgeous gorgeous taupe, it is not as bronzey as the name would suggest but for a quick swipe on the lid, a girl can't ask for a prettier shade with such ease
This shade reminds me of MAC Satin Taupe with MAC Sable mixed in

I compared these with my Armani shadow in Gold Blitz #5

Swatches
L to R : Iced Latte, Bare Study, Bronzed Taupe, Gold Blitz

3. Pigmentation is amazing, see it compared to the Armani (gold shade)

Indoor Lighting
L to R: Iced Latte, Bronzed Taupe, Gold Blitz

Sunlight

Umm how GORGEOUS and pigmented are these??? I am definitely buying Amber Rush next, the minute I find it!

Now on the the brief review:
These are super smooth, come in great wearable colors (along with a few fun ones), incredibly pigmented, and last 10 to 12 hours on my eyes with a primer. I apply them with my finger but they are just as gorgeous on a flat eye shadow brush. The price is great, and I would recommend any women who wanted the gorgeous Armani shadows, but could not validate the price to buy these instead as they are an excellent substitute. (Look for BOGO sales!)
L'Oreal, you did GOOD on this one!

Differences:
The only real difference I see between these drugstore shades compared to the Armani are, Armani has a better color range, some of which has multi colored shimmer in them which adds to their incredible interest, but in terms of 1 complete shade with the same shimmer running through these are very comparable in my opinion.

Though scads of reviews have now entered the blog o sphere on these babies, please check out Tiffany's post for additional swatches and reviews!

  1. I agree about drugstore makeup stepping up. I'm in love with Revlon's lipbutters! I've read so many awesome reviews on these and decided I am going to pick up a few. I've had my eye on the Armani ETK shadows but I'm not giving into the price tag just yet.

  2. Thanks for review these shadows, I've never heard of these Loreal shadows before. The swatches are gorgeous and look very pigmented. It's awesome that they're a less pricy alternative to Armani Eyes to Kill. I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for any BOGO sales.

  5. I'm dying to get my hands on Bronzed Taupe and Amber Rush! Possibly Iced Latte and one of the "colors" as well :D I'm going to wait for a sale though.... because drugstores always have offers and even though these are much less expensive than the GA shadows, it's hard for me to shell out full price XD I think I still need a few of the GA shadows in my life though :(

  10. BEAUTIFUL!!!! I last saw these at a local Target back in Dec...but didn't end up getting them since I was soley there to do last min. Christmas shopping. But when I visited another Target, the display was gone! I'm contemplating on going back to the first one...-sigh-

I do have "Burning Black" sent to me from a UK friend. It didn't work with the brush I used to apply it, but I'll try the finger method next time around.
