The overwhelming feeling of "I have tooooo much stuff" is settling in again, but here are the products I managed to get through in February!
First up is facial skin care
Avene Gentle Gel Cleanser: Loved this. Loved the scent, the gentleness, the clean but not "sqeaky clean" feeling it left on my face, and I loved the ingredient list! I am currently using a very similar product for twice the money, and would definitely advise on choosing Avene skin care! The brand is semi affordable, if you live in NYC it's quite accessible, but for others, it is readily found online!
This is for normal to combo skin skin, and it has no real bells and whistles but gently and calmly cleanses my skin and made it look refreshed!
Initially it did dry my skin out after towleing dry, but so long as you use a toner, or moisturizer right after, you should be good. Thumbs up! Will be repurchasing in the future.
Olay Beauty Fluid: The original version. I initially purchased this to see if it was any different from the sensitive skin version which I love. It is. It is more hydrating, richer, and has a scent I used to gag over. Since winter came and I had finished my Clinique Moisturizer, I used this up and found out, the scent I can get used it. This is more hydrating version, thus better for me in the winter, and does not irritate my skin. Olay is full of winners! I still prefer my fragrance free version but this normal version may be a repurchase next winter! I would recommend this for people who have more normal to dry skin. Be warned of the baby powder scent though!
Estee Lauder Idealist: I had mentioned this product a few times but here is an example. Again, I found this did nothing for my skin. I would not recommend this to anyone, and especially to anyone with an aversion to silicon. This was a gift so I did use it up in appreciation but glad it's out of my life...again (bottle number 2)
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion: People can say what they want about Clinique but their lotion and gel formulas are constants in my skin care drawer. They last forever, the two versions fit my skin for the entire year, the price is fair for a bottle that is honking huge, and does not cause pimples. Both the gel and lotion version hydrate my skin to the exact levels needed for the year. I will be repurchasing both, and already on a new bottle of this stuff while winter still lingers
Lancome high resolution refill cream: My second sample jar. These are quite large and last me several months. I use them on my neck for the lines there, and with regular use I do see them fading!! When I see laugh lines on my face becoming more dominant I apply this at night too and it softens them the next morning. I do believe this works but don't need to slather this all over my face as of yet ( I have more spot problems than wrinkle problems) I know prevention is key, but since I am spreading acne meds at night I would rather spend $ on that for now, and I fear the actual price of a full size jar of this stuff may be scary...
St Ives Green Tea Body Wash: I think this is a semi new product? I tried this instead of my usual Neutrogena Body Wash and let me just say, Neutrogena reigns supreme! With this, though it lathers nicely and smells fresh, I got spots!!! I buy these to use after the gym to avoid spots due to tight clothing and perspiration but this did not work.
I saw a sale on Neutrogena body washes and now am ready for the next few months! No looking back now!
Bath and Body Works Mini Body Butter: Since it's winter I have kept this mini body butter on my desk at work to hydrate my hands and love it over lotion! Well for winter. Faaar more hydrating and exactly what I need. I stocked up on a few during some sale, so now my desk drawer is well prepared for the remnants of winter! Yay to super soft and hydrated hands!
Bath and Body Works Anti Bacterial: Princess themed!!! I purchased this I think after Will and Kate married, even B&BW got in the spirit!
Make up and misc
MAC's Fix Plus with Lavender (LE): Use it every time I wear make up. I will be trying the Urban Decay all nighter spray or maybe one from skindinavia for a change, but this always gives me that radiant non powdery glow which I seem addicted to!!
Maybelline Full and Soft Mascara Waterproof: One of my favorite drugstore mascaras. Never leaves my lashes crunchy, always a natural effect, and the first mascara I ever tried. I will always repurchase because I love the product, and sentimental reasons :)
Blistex Silk and Shine SPF 15: I love blistex. The one in the blue pot. But this taught me, not all Blistex are equal. I purchased this because I don't always love the pot form and it had spf 15. I will never get this again. Waxy, slid off my lips, felt thick in a bad way, bleh not for me. Where is my new blue tub?? Always and forever!
Elizabth Arden Green Tea Perfume: This perfume has a very long story which I semi recently learned about, about how it came into my life, which is funny but for another time. This perfume is not a favorite of mine but it is definitely my "Most used" this has to be at least finished bottle number 4 or something in my life and I have 2 more waiting in the drawer full and ready. My boyfriend is very sensitive to smells but seems to love this over all my other perfumes so I always wear this one when I see him. Though I am not crazy about the smell, I am about the boy so I wear it.
It's also thankfully quite cheap! I buy this in an outlet 2 bottles for 20 bucks and never worry about repurchasing so I guess this is going to be a forever purchase!!
That's it for this month, what have you guys finished up recently?
